Spotlight Dún Laoghaire - Visiting the National Maritime Museum

July 08, 2015

There are so many stunning spots in Dún Laoghaire to visit but one of our favouites and just seconds from our door step is the National Maritime Museum of Ireland......

The Museum has grown in popularity over the past few years and they have seen visitor number grow year on year. The Museum really is a labour of love for all those involved and is entirely run by volunteers and community employment workers. Meeting with Richard McCormick President of the Museum recently he spoke about how every week the Museum gets new stories and people getting in contact with their own questions and observations. Dún Laoghaire and the Sea have been linked for generations and nowhere is its unique history better encapsulated than in the Museum. The Museum holds regular events and seminars just visit http://www.mariner.ie/ for more information. They have an amazing 3D tour on their website if you want to have a sneak peak just click here

The Maritime Museum is also an approved location for Irish Civil Ceremonies and is a truely unique location if you are thinking of a civil marriage or civil partnership ceremony!
