Whatever the weather there is pleny happening in Dún Laoghaire this Summer, from the Teddy Bears Picnic to the DLR Bay 10K there is something for everyone.....
5. Port Summer Carnival - Dun Laoghaire
26th June - July 12th
Enjoy a day at the carnival Monday – Friday from 2pm and Saturday and Sunday starting at 12pm. Featuring Big Wheel, Take Off, Frisbee, Dodgems, Carousel and kiddie rides!
4. Dun Laoghaire Regatta
July 9th – 12th.
Enjoy a day out with the family at Dun Laoghaire Regatta and enjoy quality racing along with a wonderful festive. Entertainment from Hit Machine Drummers, St. Maur’s Pipe Band and one of Irelands best family entertainers, the Great Gazpacho & the People’s Park Market where you can sample some of the best market food available.
3. The Teddy Bears Picnic – Blackrock Park
Bring your bears and blankets to enjoy a picnic in Blackrock Park from 1-5 PM on Sunday. Fun for all ages will include DJ, face painting, bouncy castles, inflatable games, entertainment on the Lake Stage, and a “make & do” area. Admission is free but everyone should bring along a teddy bear!
2. DLR Bay 10K
Are you ready to slay the bay? Taking place bank holiday Monday starting at 10:30AM. The scenic route runs along Dún Laoghaire seafront, through Seapoint, Monkstown, Glenageary, Killiney, and Sandycove finishing close to the historic Dún Laoghaire Town Hall. This race encourages runners of all ages and paces to take part. All participates will receive a medal, chip time, draw string knit bag and T-shirt. At the finish water, fruit, Nature Valley bar and yoghurt will be provided. The dlr Bay 10k is sanctioned by the AAI and run under AAI/IAAF Rules.
1. Proms On The Pier
August 29th & 30th
Enjoy the best music of the 70’s and 80’s on Saturday, starting at 4:30PM and ending at 10:30PM. Guests can enjoy music in an outdoor facility surrounded by the waters of the Dun Laoghaire Pier with fully reserved seating. Featuring Air Supply, Johnny Logan, 10 CC, Midge Ure, Phil Coulter and many more.
