Dundrum Town Centre

Dundrum Town Centre is one of Ireland's largest shopping centres. The  centre offers a large variety of Shops including BT2, House of Fraser to name just a few.

If you want to do some late night shopping whilst staying in the hotel, Dundrum town centres stays open night until 9pm.

There is an array of restaurants, coffee shops and eateries to choose from. The centre is also home to one of Dublins best Movie Theatres Movies@Dundrum.

The Hotel is located just 9km from Dundrum Town centre and makes it an excellent choice for a retail break in Dublin or perhaps just to have a browse & pick some holiday gifts.


Powerscourt is one of the world’s great gardens and is located just over 15km from Dun Laoghaire making it an ideal location to stay overnight while visiting Powerscourt. Set against the backdrop of the Sugarloaf Mountain, Powerscourt is beautiful whatever time of the year you decide to visit. From the ornate gardens to the formal walks of the Rose and Kitchen Gardens, there are several hidden treasures to discover. Powerscourt House is a magnificent mansion which stands in place of the 13th century Medieval Castle, the mansion took many years to build and completed in 1741. Unfortunately a fire destroyed most of the house in 1974, it has since been restored and now contains a Children’s Museum. Powerscourt is also well know for its stunning waterfall. Powerscourt Waterfall is one of the highest in the country at 121m. It is set in one of Ireland's most beautiful parklands at the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains. Powerscourt is ideal for couples, families & active retired with something there for everyone. It is open daily from 9.30am to 5.30pm.

Leopardstown Racecourse

If you are looking for a hotel close to Horse Racing then look no further than the Royal Marine Hotel Dun Laoighre.  Leopardstown Racecourse is just 15 minutes from the hotel and like the majority of Irish courses, it hosts both National Hunt and Flat racing.

Many important races are held here and racing takes place all year round, with about 22 meetings per year.

The Cliff Walk from Bray to Greystone’s

The Cliff Walk from Bray to Greystones is popular with local’s, visitors and people looking to escape the city.

This stunning walk winds along the side of Bray Head and you can enjoy views of the East Coast. The walk is about 7 kilometres and takes about 2 hours to complete. The walk follows the Dart railway line so it’s an easy ride back to Dun Laoghaire. The Cliff Walk is home to many different types of seabirds and numerous types of colourful wildflowers that add to this stunning walk. The Cliff Walk has a fascinating history and was built during the construction of the rail line, to allow the movement of men and equipment. Suitable for all levels of walkers, perfect for couples, families or active retired.

Glendalough/Wicklow Mountains Tour

Glendalough Co Wicklow, one of Ireland’s most beautiful visitors destinations and is located 40km from Dun Laoghaire. For thousands of years people have been drawn to Glendalough for its spectacular scenery, rich history, archaeology and abundant wildlife. It is renowned for its Early Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin, a hermit priest, and partly destroyed in 1398 by English troops.

Surely one of the most popular walks of all time is the sugar loaf mountain located just over 19km from Dun Laoghaire. This walk is a favourite for all ages and boost outstanding views down the coast and on the Wicklow Mountains.

The shorter walk can be done in about one hour with the longer route starting from Kilmacanoge taking approximately 2.5 hours. The Royal Marine Hotel is the perfect base when planning a day trip to Glendalough & the Wicklow Mountains.

Johnnie Fox’s Pub

Johnnie Fox's is one of Ireland's oldest and most famous traditional Irish pubs also famous for being the highest pub in the country. Situated in Glencullen on top of the Dublin Mountains, located approximately 20 minutes drive from Dun Laoghaire.

Traditional Irish Music is played every night at the Pub, plus on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. There are large bands that play through the year on selected dates. You can also see some of the top dancing performances in the country at the famous 'Hooley Night' - dinner & show in all.
